“Really not sure how we would have coped these past few months without the Chessington Fridge & Pantry and I told the Mayor this when she came to visit and how amazing the volunteers are.”

Due to the cost of living crisis, more local people are using community fridges and foodbanks.

Our grant have supported New Era CIC from the start, enabling them to add more locations over the past year. One grant funded a new fridge in Chessington, set up before Christmas to redistribute surplus food.

“The absolute best hours I spend every week volunteering are at the Chessington Community Fridge. The volunteer team are so happy to be there and the visitors are mostly locals in need that appreciate everything we do,"
