Kingston Charitable Foundation announced as one of new Mayor's special causes
Kingston's new Mayor, Councillor Diane White has announced that Kingston Charitable Foundation will be one of her special causes during her mayoral year.
As the former Chief Executive of local voluntary sector organisation, Kingston Carers' Network, Councillor White has a keen understanding of the challenges faced by people living in the Borough - and the very real need for support for the organisations that help them.
Kingston Charitable Foundation joins Voice of Hope, an organisation dedicated to rebuilding hope in those who have faced severe adversity, focusing on improving physical and mental health through community-based projects, as the Mayor's chosen causes.
Not only will the Foundation benefit from the fundraising events taking place throughout the Mayor's term, but we will also be able to widen awareness of our role in strengthening communities in Kingston thanks to the brilliant platform this brings us.
Hicky Kingsbury, CEO of Kingston Charitable Foundation says: "We were delighted to be invited to be one of the Mayoral Charities of the Year by our wonderful new Mayor Diane White and Deputy Mayor Roger Thorpe. It is a real honour to have been selected, together with Voices of Hope, a charity we know so well through our shared community and indeed by awarding three grants to, since we launched in 2021.
This is such an incredible opportunity to fundraise for and directly support Kingston residents. The team and I are really excited about this year and are already making plans on how we can collectively make the most difference."
